Hey, how did he shift that discussion from the "?" thread to his personal fiefdom? Went to rip him for a post and got the "you are banned" page. Bummer.

BTW, did you like his copy and paste "Here are some examples of violations" post? Message 20611381

It appears he thinks he's found a smoking gun proving some wrong-doing by the administration, rather than a rough guide as to what's not OK. I bet he thinks organized, school-sponsored prayer is rampant in the south and that subsidized school lunches or state funding for textbooks can't legally be provided to religious schools. He's the one who needs to retake ninth grade "civics".

BTW, does anyone use that term any more? Around here, we call it "political science". But then Armpit thinks that means the same thing as law school. ;-)

As for tonto or whoever posted about remaining non-partisan to avoid losing tax exempt status, I'd make two points. First, that is not a matter of church/state separation. It also applies to purely secular non-profits. Second, just like many secular non-profits, many churches are blatantly partisan - one both sides of the political spectrum. Pretty much all they have to do to dance around legal technicalities is avoid using candidate or party names. But few, if any, parishioners fail to get the real message when Kerry shows up at church Sunday morning, gives a talk, and is followed by the pastor saying "be sure to vote." The same is true for "non-partisan" issue-oriented secular non-profits. The NAACP and a long list of environmental groups come to mind.

Best,
Bob
