It's interesting that you keep mentioning that they have telephones in Nebraska. Evidently, Dick Cheney didn't know that, as he never even tried to call Bush while giving orders to shoot down commercial airliners. (He claims to have called, but there are no records and no one with him recalls his making the call...another Cheney lie).

The reality is that Bush ran, and Cheney (the "acting" President) wanted him out of the way during a crisis.
