Novell (NASDAQ:NOVL) CEO says company not for sale Reuters, Wednesday, August 27, 1997 at 10:26 NEW YORK, Aug 27 (Reuter) - Novell Inc Chairman and Chief Executive Eric Schmidt said on Wednesday the company "is not for sale" but refused further comment on rumors of a possible merger with International Business Machines Corp (NYSE:IBM). "First of all, the company is not for sale," Schmidt said, adding, "I am not allowed to comment on any of these kinds of rumors." Schmidt made the remarks at the Java Internet Business Expo here. Novell was trading at 9-5/16, down 21/32 from the open, and was the most activly traded Nasdaq issue this morning. Copyright 1997, Reuters News Service
