Many people vote for teams. Right or wrong "their" team. If they are a Yankee fan and overnight the Yankees and Boston trade all of their players, 90% of the fans will still loyally follow "their" team. They live vicariously through their teams. They have no lives of their own. To most Americans life is what the see on TV although they all say they don't watch it or much of it. Disaster and war on on one channel or another and not in their real world. The WTT falling are a video thay may have on tape. Some have "cool" closeups of people jumping. Most feel nothing for others. They just have their team. Until a bomber flattens everyone in a ToysRus or Starbucks, they will never understand terror. Most are usful idiots being well employed by those that wish the US to crumble. Don't be surprised that the EU is anti-american. The entire purpose of the EU was to become a stronger competition to the states. People need to stop thinking of "Western" Eastern" and thing USA. China doesn't thing "eastern" or Asia" China thinks China. France thinks France and the USA better damned well start remembering we are different and we are the USA and think USA!
