Bomb rocks Indonesia's Paris embassy Fri 8 October, 2004 06:58 PARIS (Reuters) - A bomb has exploded in front of the Indonesian embassy in Paris before dawn, causing minor injuries to about 10 people, French radio station Europe 1 reports. Windows in nearby buildings were shattered by the blast in the wealthy 16th arrondissement in the western part of the city, it said, quoting firemen at the scene on Friday. "It was caused by a package bomb placed just in front of the embassy," the radio's reporter on the scene said. "The explosion was quite strong ... several vehicles were damaged and windows in neighbouring apartments were shattered." Police refused immediate comment and the fire department would only confirm that an explosion had taken place but had not caused much damage to the building. "The explosion damaged a small area of the building's facade," a spokesman said, adding that the blast did not cause any fire. Asked about the cause of the blast, he said there were no leads at the moment Police cordoned off the area to investigate. The fire department spokesman said the injured were mostly cut by flying glass. reuters.co.uk
