Sandisk has previously hinted that they have multiple handset manufacturers signed up for Transflash but have yet to name anybody besides Motorola.....well, it looks like the second design win is Samsung. The SPH-V4900 has T-Flash listed as one of its specs.

I wouldnt try to open this page without a broadband connection....it has a ton of pictures.

It looks like both Samsung and LG are moving towards removable flash in the domestic market though this is by no means universal. I didnt see any models from Pantech (third largest Korean handset manufacturer) with a slot.

Another interesting trend is that the Koreans are starting to export handsets with large amounts of embedded memory (along with other models with slots). The SGH-D500 is a GSM slider phone from Samsung that comes with 80MB of embedded memory. I assume some portion of this is NAND. This handset is supposed to be the centerpiece of their mid-tier handset lineup and should be a big seller.

Another example is the LG-VX8000....this is the first 1xEV-DO handset for Verizon. I had previously been disappointed that this handset had not external slot for memory. However, the specs list the memory as "NAND flash 1G/256M". I have no idea if they are going to come out with two versions of this handset, but even if the memory is "only" 256MB, it is nice to see them set the bar high for any followers in the DO handset market.
