I can remember Billy Beer. Billy Carter, now that was a character that made mm look like a hard working exec.

Jimmy Carter was a real idealist, and had one of the highest IQ for a president, he was intensely particular about the details of the information in front of him and worked hard on the little things, dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

Of course in the midst of all those detailed scrutiny, he seems to have missed the big picture.

However, Carter was neither evil nor stupid. He was just plain wrong when it comes to foreign, economic, domestic, healthcare issues. But that's all hindsight. In his shoes, crippled with his ideological burden, I wonder what anyone else could have done.
