But I think the day they decide to join the US, or others, citizenship, should be the day they abandon their Chinese citizenship. Furthermore, why these Chinese who already join foreign citizenship still want to keep their Chinese citizenship? I don't see any reason except they want to save a couple of dollars, and maybe some time, for applying a visa when they visit China. After all, China, unlike the US, approves the visa 100%. And BTW, as far as I know, the reason for most of Chinese joined the US citizenship is

1) they want to petition for their relatives for US immigration;
2) they do not need to apply visa when they travel to EU and a bunch of other countries;
3) in some cases, they need to enjoy certain US social welfare which not applied to PR.

So basically they want to get all the benefits for having a US passport, still do not want to pay a couple of dollars for Chinese visa.
