I once allowed myself to be persuaded to sell my Symbol Technologies stock by a glib-talking friend who claimed to know all the inside dope about Route 128 computer companies, and who told me that IBM would certainly develop its own technology and wipe out Symbol Technologies.

I would have increased my money over 1000% if I had only held that stock, which I had rather painstakingly searched out. One of the stupidest moves I ever made--and it wasn't even my own idea to make the move.
