Bush is NOT credible on budget deficits:

FIRST, we get this INCREDIBLE contradiction on two consecutive answers:

BUSH: "And you're right, I haven't vetoed any spending bills, because we work together."

BUSH: "Well, look at the budget. One is make sure Congress doesn't overspend."

SECOND, we get this unspecific claim on how Bush will cut the deficit in half in 5 years:

BUSH: "I proposed a plan, detailed budget, that shows us cutting the deficit in half by five years."

Then the "excuse" President goes on to blame the recession and the stock market bubble for the deficit. BUT, here is what Bush said in Jan 2002 in his SOTU address, AFTER the bubble and AFTER the recession:

BUSH: "our budget will run a deficit that will be small and short-term"

Bush is NOT CREDIBLE.
