Why didn't Bush learn from Afghanistan? At least there (and everyone supported that war so it wasn't Bush's war like Iraq) we had a government ready to replace the Taliban after the invasion and armed allies ready to perform security. We also had NATO ready to come in. Except for pulling out early and letting Osama go at Tora Bora, Bush did things right in Afghanistan. So why did he totally ignore all those precautions and preparations in Iraq? It's the difference between success and total failure.
