Ski -- all opinions vary <g>

I didn't find Kerry smug. I did find GWB sometimes smug. How can he not have made mistakes? How can he honestly believe he's never made mistakes in the hardest job in the world? There never has and never will be a mistake free President, and arrogance, I think we'd both agree, is not a trait we really want in our President (or not in extreme).

I found them both too angry at times, but again, I thought the President was angrier. Too much shouting. Not unflappable.

All that said, I think they both did fine, and certainly GWB seemed much stronger this go round than last one. I have read numerous reports that the largest block of undecided voters is undecided because they are unsure if Kerry is "Presidential" as if there's a set definition of that. If that's the case, I think he showed that he could be President. Certainly GWB gave no one anything new to use against him, but I think he's in a harder spot to win converts. And I also agree that if the market moves related to the debate... it's only cuz someone wants a headline that says it's due to the debate.
