Selectric II: 16 messages from you alone? Wow.

1. Stop being paranoid. 1 million people die from heart disease....EVERY YEAR. Be paranoid about Krispy Kreme and its nefarious cousins Snowball and Twinkie.

2. How many people die because they cannot afford proper medical care? The point is really this, if BigPharma sees their own brand name drugs being widely imported from overseas, don't you think it'll just offer domestic drugs at a more competitive price?

Right now, BigPharma has zero incentive to reduce costs since Bush and the Republican Congress made BigPharma profits a protected class.

Mostly though, Americans should get healthier on their own by knocking off the Mickie D's and the lack of exercise. Reducing obesity and increasing activity would do more than anything we can do with after-the-fact drugs.

3. What if Al-Qaeda did what? Come on, deal with probabilities, possibilities and not paranoid fantasies.

Vioxx and possibly other drugs in its class went through all this testing and were widely distributed ($2.5 B/year in revenue for Vioxx alone I believe). Now it turns out to be a drug that greatly increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

It happens.
