That was a fine piece of writing. Thanks for sharing that essay.

There is one thing that struck me about the article in particular:

While you say that this is the goal of the Muslim jihadists, I think it would be useful to juxtapose this strategic goal of these fanatics with the strategic goals of the likes of Zbigniew Brzezinski (as expressed in "The Grand Chessboard") and the Project for a New American Century (as expressed in "Rebuilding America's Defenses").

It strikes me that both the jihadists and the U.S. imperialists/militarists have in mind to capture the same Eurasian prize, and to do so largely by the same means, i.e. ruthless military conquest.

Do you share this view?
