Chuck, Aren't they all really the contrivance of mortal man
A contrivance is basically a lie. If a person believes in a lie, then faith in it is useless to him. If a person believes in truth, then that truth produces a certain effect for him.
My life was changed by Jesus Christ, a man who lived here, then died here (like anyone else) but remarkably came back to life and left his tomb, and entered Heaven. He is mankind's Man in Heaven -- the very Son of God. That is the claim.
When I met God through this man, Boom!! Ever since then (now 28 years), I experience a constant stream of answers to prayer and a peace in my heart which I fervently wish you knew for yourself. Have you ever experienced the presence of God? I have and I do, on a regular basis. There is nothing like it in all the earth.
I get no money for telling you this, nor hope ever to see a dime for it. I certainly have no hope or occasion to control your mind or your life. My only hope is to introduce you to someone that you may very well believe is a myth. If he is indeed a contrivance, then I am an utter fool to risk the mockery of the cynic by telling you this. See for yourself, why don't you.
If you do, it is only fair to tell you to be prepared for something -- That your life as you know it will be over and a new one will be given to you. That's the price and that is what you get.
Is faith an idle Sunday morning distraction for you or is a new life worth more than that to you?
As far as the answer to that goes, I have absolutely no more power or influence with you.
