Excuse me but it was just before Aussie elections when JOHN Kerry's campaign has warned Australians that the Howard Government's support for the US in Iraq has made them a bigger target for international terrorists.

That was a clear and obvious attempt to influence the Aussie elections. Ånd we all know if Howard had been defeaed, the Kerry camp would be cheering the loss of another American ally.
I can recall reading SI posts by over-eager Kerry backers hoping for the defeat of the Howard gov't. In fact, your post shows that the Kerry camp still hasn't given up hope:

Though Howard remains as PM again, he could face a vote of non-confidence in the foreseeable future, as Dipy has pointed out!
