Australian opinion polls, abundantly reported in Australian media, have been saying for weeks that foreign policy and Howard's pro-US stance were not going to be major issues in the election. I reviewed a lot of Australian media reaction and poll data after the recent Jakarta bombing, and the general consensus was that the Australian public was simply not that concerned with foreign policy, and that the attacks had failed to significantly increase that concern.
