<The NUN? Why not wish for The Federation Council while you're at it?
It would be about as likely.>
The USA has an opportunity and would be the major beneficiary. As you say, it's wishful thinking and it's unlikely that anyone in power, or that the electorate, has sufficient imagination, so the USA will gradually, or even quickly, go down the gurgler, just like all the other hubris-polluted hot-shots before it. We're working on internet time now so things happen quicker than in the days of the Roman Empire.
The USA has about 5% of the world's population. That's not enough in the long run to rule the roost, or even to have a major influence. Let's see how things are going in 30 years. It's generally best to make hay while the sun shines. Remember too the story about the three little pigs.
But, if I don't mention it, and nobody else even contemplates the idea, it definitely won't happen. If enough people realize that anarchy isn't a great way to run a railroad, then maybe some political will will develop.
Nothing lost in the meantime.
It won't be a big problem for me, either way. Not as big a problem as for those in the hot-seat anyway.
