brian, That's correct. I think the bible is a book, written by opinionated, men based on folklore, and legend, handed down orally. Since you use this book as the only source of true information, you can not prove anything either. Actually, no one can prove anything regarding religion, or anything else in the progression of life on earth.
I don't think I had an experience with God. I was saved from the brink of hell by some force, and I don't exactly know what that force was. I didn't even want to be saved. I was fed up with this contaminated earth, and wanted out of the snake pit of humanity.
You can take that snide "drunk" comment, and shove it up your ass. My thinking of today was not formulated until long after I took my last drink of alcohol, so you can't blame it on any sort of fog.
I have never tried to prove that God even exists. At least, not the God that you believe in. I believe that there is a power, force, or deity, that brought the elements together to provide a source of fuel, and the ignition that caused that mixture blow up into billions, or more, paricles that eventually formed stars, planets, asteroids, etc. ad infinitum. Something cannot come from nothing, so some force must have had something to do with making, and setting off, that big firecracker.
The earth we live on, is a puny speck of matter in a vast universe. What makes you think that humans, especially you, are so important? We just happen to be at the top of the food chain because of our ability to make weapons.
Since there is this universe, it stands
to reason that there are others, but then that would boggle your mind more than it could take. BTW, How big do you think the universe is? Where, and what, are the boundries? What happens if we could reach those boundries, and cross them? You have no answers? Good, now you know just how insignificant humans really are in the total scheme of things.
You are trying to demand proof from me, so I have the same right. You present the bible as being the absolute truth. If you want others to believe the same, PROVE IT!!
I don't insist that others believe as I do, so am not burdened by the onus of providing proof. I know that what I think is theory, but you believe your thinking is fact. Surely, even you can see the difference there. Well, maybe you cannot. Anyone that says he does not know the birth dates of his children, and that is his wife's "job", is a pathetic kind of father, and man. |
