bett ann (& steve S) - Off the top of my head, I think his name is Joe Nacchio. He is one of the AT&T refugees, which decided that since he wasn't tabbed for top spot, he would accept offer to start QWST.

There is an article on the money man behind the start of QWST is (9/8/97 issue of Forbes.

I didn't mean to slight QWST. I have high regard for them. They were brilliant in signing up 3 big carriers from the start. Did i say something wrong or is the lack of postings by pat driving us both insane.
