Albemarle to Increase Price for Martinal ATH Flame Retardants, Effective Nov. 15

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Specialty chemical maker Albemarle Corp. on Monday said it will increase the price of its Martinal ATH flame retardants to a minimum of 40 cents per pound for bulk and full-container shipments in North America and Asia Pacific, effective Nov. 15. The price increase is needed to offset rising raw material, energy and transportation costs, the company said.

Albemarle said it will also increase production of its Martinal ATH retardants by an additional 10,000 metric tons in the near term. The company has already increased ATH production capacity at its Bergheim, Germany plant.
