That is nonsense. Rudy was about to be laughed out of the NY mayor's office because of the marital follies at Gracie Mansion. The wife and the girlfriend kept inconveniently running into one another.

Remember that was before 9/11 when Rudy was transformed from a laughing-stock to the great future hope of the Repugs. He was just doing his job on 9/11 but he did perform valiantly and bravely, especially in comparison to the paralyzed, cowering Bush running off to hide in his bunker.
