But you could tell people also thought there was something vaguely undemocratic that a state as large as California wasn't being treated, in a sense, to one of the most distinguishing features of a presidential race.


If Californians are jealous of not getting the ads the battleground states get, they could always pass a split-the-electoral-vote-by-popular-vote amendment, like some moneyed Californians are pushing for Colorado.

In 2008 that would get them lots of ads :)
