In Friday night's St. Louis debate, Senator Kerry suggested there was no need for Medicare Modernization, "Actually, Mr. President, in 1997 we fixed Medicare, and I was one of the people involved in it."

If it was fixed why didn't seniors have a prescription drug benefit? Or options for preventative care? Senator Kerry never saw a political expediency in helping America's greatest generation until it was time to run for President. That's why.

In just four years, President Bush has worked to modernize Medicare to offer seniors more choices, better benefits and the choice to stay with the current coverage they enjoy today. John Kerry opposed the Medicare bill and skipped nearly every vote on the bill.

Senator Kerry has served in the Senate for 20 years and has not modernized Medicare or expanded the choices for America's seniors.
