My point is that if I were voting on the issue of abortion, the "emo" issues would not register with me. "Bestial father" and all that. I gather that you have a strong "emo" component to your makeup, and stuff like that is meaningful to you.

Someone punches your emotional hot buttons with a phrase like "bestial father" and your intellect short circuits. At least, that's how it appears to me.

I have no idea how I would vote on a proposed statute which I haven't seen, and you don't seem to be able to describe.

The point I was making is that Kerry isn't a Catholic. Not according to the Pope, etc.

The Dean of Georgetown or whatever whom you quoted is a member of another church, which resembles the Catholic church, but is not.
