I agree that finding a physician in the future may be a difficult undertaking due to so many leaving medical practices.....especially in specific subspecialties and in certain areas of the country.

The practice of medicine IMO has changed drastically over the last 20 years. When a student graduates from medical school, and then proceeds through Internship and Residency, they start their medical career with a large financial burden of medical school costs/loans as well as the cost to join a practice.

When you consider the extremely long hours that a primary care physician works, the hassles they constantly deal with from patients demanding services or specific drugs, and the possibility of baseless malpractice suits....it amazes me that anyone chooses to go to medical school today.
