Where are you getting your information from? All the computer
magazines I read say a Cyrix 200+ matches or beats Pentium 200
overall. Sure you can find an AutoCAD or a cheap benchmark that
might show the Pentium ahead, but after 50 or so different tests
using real applications (like Photoshop and a host of others whom
I don't remember off the top of my head) the Cyrix ties or wins.
a Cyrix 200+ ties or beats a Pentium 166 in FP instructions so at
most it's a 15% decrease in performance. And anyone, I've already
mentioned I don't use AutoCAD or any very intensive FP apps so I
couldn't care less how fast it does FP.

As for the DEC deal, money is the key. If AMD hooked them up with
a low price, then DEC is smart to buy K6 chips. DEC doesn't test
the chips it buys and determine whether to sell or not, what matters
is what sells. If chips made of horse dung became hot sellers, all
the box-makers would include this chip inside. Think about it,
what to box-makers want? ...to sell their products..and they will
include the chip that makes them profit, who cares what chip it is.

You seriously need to get the facts straight. You come up with this
stuff from god knows where. I am presenting PC magazine findings
(which are reliable) and my own findings (which to me are the most
important test of all). Have you used a wide array of applications
on a Pentium and a Cyrix and compared?? Well I have.

You keep paying twice for slower speed, that's OK with me. Intel can grab 95% of the PC market if it wants, you won't hear me complaining.
I just don't want you posting false performance figures. Do me a
favor and check out www.alternativecpu.com. You could learn alot
there.
