Doesn't the fact that after two plus years most of them have not been tried and convicted make you think that the case against them (whatever it is, we don't know) is weak?

Perhaps. It doesn't concern me. If a few (and it is just a few) innocents got caught up in efforts to get people off the street who can hurt us, I'm good with that. Nobody ever said life is fair.

Ross Perot, when he was running the Texas drug task force, was asked whether South Dallas could be cleaned up. He answered, "We can clean it up. We may have to suspend the Bill of Rights for a little while to do it, but we can clean it up." Some people were outraged at his remark, but I found it heartening, because I knew that he was exactly right. Sometimes, the Bill of Rights (or in this case, the Geneva Convention) gets in the way of the most important objective -- whether it be eliminating drug dealers or protecting us against terrorists.
