My father almost took a job in Irvine (in Orange CO.) when I was a kid. Later, living in Oceanaside, south of there, I came know the place while commuting up to a contract job in Brea. Irvine is a "master planned" community - everything is perfect and new-looking. It's immaculately clean, and any form of soul or independant thought is forbidden. There are no weeds in the lawns, ANYWHERE! It has no low cost housing visible - maybe they are underground, or maybe all the MacDonald workers and gardeners have to commute from South central LA. It's almost spooky. I understand some women like it.
