Net2Phone Becomes The NCTC's First "Platinum Vendor" For Telephony Solutions --
Net2Phone, Inc. (Nasdaq:NTOP - News), a leading Voice over IP (VoIP) enabler for service providers, announced today that the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC), a purchasing group representing more than 1,000 US cable operators, has selected Net2Phone to be their first "Platinum Vendor" of VoIP services to their members.
"We are excited about the endorsement from the NCTC, an independent group of more than 1,000 domestic operators, empowering members of any size with a turn-key voice solution with minimal costs. This is further proof of the scalability of Net2Phone's cable telephony solution," said Michael Pastor, President of Net2Phone Cable Telephony. "The NCTC represents a greatly underserved market, and we believe this relationship presents a fantastic opportunity for their members to move forward in offering a voice product."
In addition to quick and cost effective implementation and operation, NCTC members benefit from Net2Phone's proven telephony business expertise handling the service and support for the voice network, lowering the costs of and providing the expertise necessary to build a solution internally. As part of the deal, Net2Phone's solution will be offered to NCTC members at predefined competitive pricing for all operators, regardless of size, providing smaller cable operators with a viable option for deploying telephony solutions.
"Telephony provides cable operators with a great opportunity to add another revenue stream, but to date has been out of reach for most independent operators due to lack of scale," said Mark Bishop, NCTC's Senior VP of Hardware Sales. "Net2Phone's hosted telephony solution makes it possible for NCTC members to finally access first-rate technology and expertise at a very affordable cost."
NCTC members will maintain ownership of their telephony subscribers and brand, and will provide customer service and technical support. Net2Phone will enable provisioning and billing integration; a CLASS 5 capable switching platform; advanced features such as Caller ID; network management tools; PSTN interconnects, and operator services/directory assistance. Customers of participating NCTC members can benefit from cost savings in addition to receiving the convenience of a one-stop-shopping bundled offer of cable TV, high-speed Internet access and cable modem telephony services.
