IAC. Yep, it's amazing what the PPT & FED can do in tandem with

a few other major CBs. No sour grapes, on our part, to say so. Just a fact.

One thing worth keeping in mind vis a vis the motivation is to remember all those foreign lobbyists (aka bribe merchants) in D.C. Just like the US based special interests like the Trial Lawyers on one side, or the oil industry on the other, some of these countries also have quite a bit of money invested in congressional incumbents and therefore a vested interest in keep them in office. So, it's only logical that their CBs (particularly the Asian ones with the foreign exchange reserves to play the game with) would want to participate in manipulation operations to keep our crooked incumbents in office.

Of course, there's a great deal more to market intervention politics and strategy. But it seems to me that we can't ignore the above as part of the process.
