You must have missed the news that Afghanistan managed to hold a national election without any significant bloodshed. Our troop level in Afghanistan has remained relatively constant. The U.S. is trying to pressure NATO to step up and take more responsbility. It is not going to happen. With the exception of the UK, most of Europe has lost its will for these types of projects. If you think that Kerry can get the French or Germans to commit any significant number of troops to Iraq, you are delusional. If elected, Kerry will cut and run.
