We homeschool. I often wonder how my son would do in school. He is a very active young boy -- I've always thought that someone would probably recommend he be drugged because he finds it hard to sit still while he is doing his work. School is, in many respects a very artificial environment -- getting large numbers of kids to conform to one given idealistic view. I think it is more natural for kids to be taught at home -- by their parents -- at least until they are approaching their teen years.

I'm amazed at the numbers of people who love to see the reach of the federal government extended into every area of our lives -- all the while they think they are supporting freedom. I think most of us have a perverted view of what liberty really is ... a lot of it is just a nostalgic sense of national pride. What makes an American better than someone who was born in another country?? It is silly when you think about it. We don't choose where we are born ...
