Btw, speaking of dreams, I have something I've been meaning to show you -- somewhat related to our tornado dreams. A few days ago, I went for a walk in the fields just before sunset. The wind had been absolutely wild earlier in the day, but had dropped off slightly. The sun was getting low and casting a golden light across the fields, but over most of the sky, there was a huge mass of dark clouds -- the kind that look somewhat violent. They entire mass was turning and also moving rapidly overhead. A small opening began to appear, and grew steadily larger to become like an ocula in a huge arching dome. The cloud mass was turbulent, roiling as if bubbling up from underneath towards the opening through to the blue sky above. I shot a couple of photos of this while standing and watching the ocula race towards me. As it drew closer, the wind at ground level became very strong and whipped the trees and vegetation until they felt like they were alive with the wind. It blew my hair up all around my face and shoulders. I had a passing thought that perhaps it wasn't exactly the safest place to be while this cloud mass went over, but I tend not to think much about danger these days. Anyhow, I took a few photos of the cloud formation. These are perhaps the nicest. They don't convey the size of this cloud mass -- it stretched from horizon to horizon and was slowly turning... quite amazing really. pbase.com closer detail pbase.com Then this photo, taken a few minutes later as the cloud mass began to move on past me and the clouds picked up the golden light from the setting sun. The sky was clear and blue beyond and within an hour or two, the night sky was absolutely clear and filled with stars. pbase.com
