I have been watching and waiting for one of the candidates to show up with a silver bullet to put the other away.

These debates are way too scripted ahead of time. That is about the only remarkable thing I could remark on so far. We all know what the topics will be and how each candidate will address it.

If I were a speech writer for either one of these guys, I am sure I could come up with one or more silver bullets. For example: If either of them were to look into the camera Reagan or Clinton style and say to the American Mom, "look, the majority of these debates have been about National Security, Military operations, and such but with all sincerity, I want you to know that my highest priority is the security of the very living rooms from which you are watching this debate. I want you to know that I care personally and deeply about the safety of the children sitting around you. Together, we can continue to be the Nation of peace and safety that your Grandparents have passed on to you."

Then the candidate can point out how insecure the mothers and children of Iraq, Afghanistan, etc are and how as a Nation of people who care, we are doing something about it.

This type of personal appeal is almost totally overshadowed by dumb rhetoric about what bush and kerry were like as teenagers. The issues of Jobs, the economy, education, health, and security all need to be addressed at a more personal level of concern.

They should hire me... I'd make em' rich... rich I tell you ... beyond their wildest dreams... oh, wait...wrong rant...sorry.
