"This morning [ed: 10-13-2004], the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) voted to delay its stock option and ESPP expensing proposal. According to FASB, the new standard will be applicable to options granted, modified or settled after June 15, 2005, which is essentially a six-month delay.

As expected, FASB also decided not to field test any valuation methods.
