haquiana, maybe the experience that saved you from the depths of despair and worse was actually a deeper sub conscience revelation of sorts, a coming to grips, if you will, with the reality of the hopelessness of the path that you were on at that time......
you alone were the cause for your rebirthing, your revelation of a better more meaningful life for yourself and those around you, it can work that way.
I beleive as you do in the "Golden Rule" and also in the following of my conscience to lead me on the path of good.
I am also a firm believer in "Tolerance and Comprehension", I use these principles to help me with todays complexities and to further understand the motivations of those, less fortunate than myself, that still cling to written words of prophets, witchdoctors, shamans, priests, rabbis, fathers etc, etc, etc.
but above all it is the Golden Rule that governs decent civilized behavior among men.
