OT Politics

I watched the debate last night and i was convinced that bush kicked ass. But the debate polls show different results. This is not good for bush at all. Some indys apparently buy into the tax the rich rhetoric. Many think kerry has the answers on health care and dont take into accout the fact that his plan cant be paid for without raising taxes across the board which he has pledged not to do. Some indy folks think stem cell and pro-choice are as important as other issues and they move toward kerry. My own immediate family started the race at 4-3-1 Kerry and now they are 6-1-1 kerry. (I am the one in the Bush column and you folks know how i waffle.) This movement has all occurred in the last three weeks since the debates started. Kerry looks Presidential albeit imo, like a bad actor president in a made for TV movie. It's like voting for james broland.
But i cant argue with the polls any longer. I warned Lindy Bill's group a long time ago that bush was heading for defeat. The contrast between kerry as portrayed in rovian and swift boat circles and the man we see on stage is night and day even for those of us who may think rove has it more right. So why the national polls still mostly have bush in the lead? Perhaps they are missingt he energized young who are big-time anti-bush. In the past these folks make noise that they are going to vote. This time they will and i wonder if the national polls take this into account.
Look for rove&co to sling mud for the next 20 days. Mud is all they have left and if they find something that sticks i guess they can still pull it out. That Sinclair movie probably will be the first shot. MIke
PS anyone offended by kerry reference to cheneys daugther.
PPS Chris matthews said that if bush had answer the question on whether gays choose to be gay or are born that way, by saying the choose, Shiefer should have followed up by saying Mr. President when did you make the choice?
