Greg brings up a very good point (post 1828), one that I believe has been tossed around earlier:

In the web-enabled java phones, does Java (OS) take the place of Wind's RTOS or does it need to run on top of it?

More generally, will Java develop into a competitive product to Wind or will Java's success bring Wind along with it? I have a feeling Allen must be thinking that Wind's success will bring Java along with it :)

As more of a technology enthusiast than an actual educated techie, I have a hard time drawing the line on:

1) how highly correlated ubiquitous computing and Wind River are.

2) what products can compete/take the place of Wind's RTOS and tool set.

Any clarification would be beautiful and helpful as well.

Thanks in advance,
DT
