It establishes the hypocrisy of the Bush admin and their willingness to bow to political expediency.

(1) they propose a Constitutional amendment, purely for political advantage, that will deprive lesbians of the opportunity to marry;

(2) Cheney's daughter, a lesbian activist and campaign official, is among the persons who would be adversely effected by this amendment;

(3) Cheney is willing to sell his own daughter out for political advantage. If he would do that to his own child, imagine what he is willing to do to strangers.

Dick and Lynne Cheney should apologize to their daughter for what they have done to her.
