For good reason, they either had questionable backgrounds and/or an ideology that was radical. The GOP still see in color; the Dems just see people and what they have to offer.

Actually the Democrats fear people for their color when they are qualified. Democrats want to keep the minorites on the reservation.

That couldn't be further from the truth. The problem with Bush's appointees was not the color of their skin. The problem was their political ideology.

Please list the reasons for blocking Janice Rogers Brown's nomination. You will not, because you know that your claim has no basis in reality.

I once knew the details once.....no longer. Here's are some comments done by a liberal group. Her nomination was turned down for the state supreme court because she couldn't keep her political ideology out of her opinions.

"The report released today, “Loose Cannon,” notes that when Brown was nominated to the state supreme court in 1996, she was found unqualified by the state bar evaluation committee, based not only on her relative inexperience but also because she was “prone to inserting conservative political views into her appellate opinions” and based on complaints that she was “insensitive to established precedent.”"

Please list the reasons for blocking Miguel Estrada's nomination. You can not, because you know that your claim is specious.

No. I researched his background before for this thread and I am not about to do it again.

These are two brilliant judicial minds. They deserve to be on the Court of Appeals. The partisans in the Democrat party know that they are violating the advise and consent clause, but have no respect for the Constitution. It is even more despicable than Kerry mentioning Cheney's daughter in the debate.

They may be brilliant but others don't like that they can't separate their politics from their judicial rulings. The radical right is trying very hard to change the nature of this country........its beliefs and the way it does business. And it may succeed. But until then, the rest of us will resist their pushiness and their willingness to foist their religious and political beliefs on those who don't agree.

The left has been slow to wake up to the changes in the right and the threat they poise to this country. Hopefully, its not too late.
