Stan, I don't understand people that say they have no control of themselves. IMO, that says that they do not want to control themselves, and are so self centered, that they think they deserve kudos for being such a "victim". I know that I was my own worst enemy during those drunken years, and regardless of the things others did that made me want to escape into the bottle, it was me that handled the situation in a weak, and faulty, way. I made my choices, and must live with the consequences, and expect no pity, or solace, from others.
The control of our own lives, is our duty, and privilege. Some of us are guilty of fumbling the ball for awhile. |
