E, about your "was Bush wired?" theory.

When they wire a rat on the Sopranos, the first thing they do is pat him down all over to make sure nothing shows. Do you think Bush's handlers were smart enough to wire him up, but too dumb to notice a big bulge on his back? (Do you think they missed the bulge even when it was just a T-shirt??)

As soon as the debate ended and families came on stage -- Didn't people pat GW on the back? Didn't Bush embrace (lightly!) Theresa? Didn't Kerry put his arm around Bush's shoulders? Ddn't Bush have his back to the cameras as the crowd milled? (Do you think GW just forgot he had a big box taped to his back?)

Do you credit GW with the mental agility to listen to Kerry's answer in ONE ear, while simultaneously listing to Karl Rove talking in his OTHER ear? That he could sort through this crossfire of words instantaneously so as to immediately frame and deliver a cogent and appropriate response to what Kerry said? Is GW that cool and clever? If he is, why did he need the coaching in the first place?

Where do you think the wiring was done? Back stage? (Where would they find a secure place?) Back in the the hotel room? (And in all the time afterward no one around GW noticed the bulge which you find so obvious in the picture?)

You asked simple questions. I'm asking simple questions.
