Hypocrisy is not just a republican/conservative virtue, look at Bill Clinton. The problem is such people are shameless. They have absolutely no scruples about living a life of hypocrisy. For many such people, the path to power is to define issues as purely black and white, with their roles as agent of "right". They then shout down anyone show sees things as grey. When granted some sort of moral authority by a segment of the population, the shameless nature of their personality kicks in and they don't even think the hypocrisy is wrong, or a problem, or even to be criticized. They are by that time above such things....and because they are above it, they should not be criticized for such behavor. Criticism is for lesser folks.
Limbaugh is just sad. O'Reilly is nasty. I have not sympathy for him. His practice of demeaning guests and controlling the debate seems somehow consistent with the claimed events. He will rip and tear on this lawsuit, but it appears there may be tapes, and there is certainly at least one witness (plaintiff's friend) to one of the conversations. What if other "victims" come out of the woodwork? Of course, the tabloid media now has blood in the water, so even if innocent, he is going to pay for this business for some time.... |
