You are saying that those who become alcoholics are simply weak willed and unable to control themselves. I don't buy that. The phenomenon of craving is limited to about 10 to 12% of the population. Others, who do not have this can take it or leave it and rarely ever experience this sensation that is as strong and gripping as heroin.

This is a proven fact medically. For you to say otherwise is very surprising to me because I know that you are well read.

None of us, early on in our drinking careers have a desire to say here goes, I am going to be the president of Alcoholics Anonymous. We start out drinking socially to have fun and enjoy ourselves just like everybody else does. It is not the alcoholics fault that he does not know that genetically, he is hard wired to develop the sensation of craving. Once that is fully established it becomes a mental and physical compulsion that no one, save a spiritual awakening can arrest. This has been well proven throughout history by legions of alcoholics who give up and either go insane or die.

I wish you well.

James
