Did you hear of Ted Koppel on 'Night Line" last night? Apparently they have proved the Swift Boat Vets as liars. Night Line sent a crew to 'Nam where they located a Vietnamese citizen whom they claimed was at the scene of Kerry's action some 35 years ago that 'earned' Hanoi John the Silver Star. The native is quoted as sayng to the effect "Much shoot shoot. Guns everywhere. Many enemy. Man jumps off boat and shoots soldier. Big hero." It is not revealed by Koppel that present was a Vietnam Government Watcher who, it is suspected, prompted the native to be sure he spoke highly of Vietnams Hero Hanoi John. This incident, akin to the Dan Rather lies, is supposed to prove the Swift boat Heroes as liars. How pathetic. The after action report of the incident, strongly suspected to have been written by Kerry, details how he, and the troops on his boat, leapt to the fray. One small detail. They were no signs of enemy fire on his aluminum boat. No bullet holes. No one else among the group received a medal, no heroes but Hanoi John. No enemy. All a dream in his mind. His gunner, Beladeau(s) described in an interview how he shot the Cong kid and wondered how he could run with his legs all shot to hell. He did not relate there was hostile fire. (Boston Globe)
Hanoi John Kerry "A legend in his own mind." Only in America could a traitor run for public office. Sad.
