The effects of an over brought market in the late nineties should have worn off in 2001. 9/11 should have net created jobs after the initial shock. In fact the only job creation under bush has been in the gov sector. As for oil a policy that encouraged consumption mainly by not tightening cafe standards by including suv has added quite a bit to domestic demand. Like everything else ideology has trumped common sense in this admin and things are worse than they could be as a result.
