Sad commentary just on MSNBC from the woman who covers the Cheney's as they go around. This is the first time Mary has exited the bus with her family. Normally the rest get off the bus, and Mary is taken out another exit, or waits until people move away as the others go off and then is whisked out and quickly into the background by her guards. Yes, let's keep that dirty little secret. Though M. Cheney doesn't seem to have ever lived it as such, nor her family with her until this election when the Amendment is a topic and Bush is going hard-core for the hard-core fundamentalist religious vote. Most people against gay marriage, I don't think would care that Cheney's daughter is gay and they wouldn't need to hide her. But it seems they have fallen into the trap of hiding to soothe the feelings of and garner the votes from a few, the few who would be disgusted by the sight of the daughter they love. I see reason to have a lot of compassion for Ms. Cheney, but not over Kerry's remarks. Kerry stood up for people, unlike what Bush is dealing out to her. Dang, and it's his VP's daughter. If he'd do that to her, imagine how he'd treat a stranger. Outrage? A bit misdirected by a lot of folks, and surely by Lynne Cheney. But then she wants votes. Maybe she will find the guts to direct her anger at Bush and Rove for how they go against gays to get votes for others.

oops, I ranted again. I swear it's the last time today.
