RT-Increased 'Focus' on networked digital signage...
Best Buy to Present In-Store Digital Media Case History at Digital Retailing Expo

Digital Retailing Expo
South Hall "A," East Mezzanine Level, Room 224

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 6, 2004--

Sponsored by FOCUS Enhancements -- Manufacturers of the Firefly MC:
A Key Component of Best Buy's In-Store Media Strategy

Visual Circuits, recently acquired by FOCUS Enhancements
(Nasdaq:FCSE), is pleased to announce that Best Buy will present a
case history regarding their use of in-store digital media as a
merchandising and promotional tool at the upcoming Digital Retailing
Expo workshop in San Francisco. The workshop, sponsored by FOCUS
Enhancements/Visual Circuits, will be held on Tuesday, October 12,
2004, at 4:30 p.m. at the Moscone Center, South Hall "A," East
Mezzanine Level, Room 224. The Firefly MC(TM) is a key component of
Best Buy's in-store media strategy.
Best Buy has been one of the earliest and most aggressive users of
in-store digital visual advertising and merchandising and has been
using the Firefly MC to deliver digital media content to its displays
since 2001. Entitled "Best Buy's In-Store Digital Media: From Concept
to Reality" and presented by Spencer Knisely, Manager, Interactive
Content Design, Best Buy Experience Development Group, the workshop
will explain the evolution of Best Buy's digital media strategy, and
include time for Q & A from those participants considering
implementation of networked digital signage.
Digital Signage networks are built from a combination of
technology elements. Network attached "store and forward" digital
media players such as the Firefly MC(TM), system management software
such as the Media Messenger(TM) from FOCUS Enhancements, network
connectivity, visual displays and the actual digital media content for
the displays, such as MPEG video, graphics and web-driven text, are
all necessary components of this new infrastructure. Recent
advancements in ease of use, in addition to widespread availability
and lower costs, have spurred adoption of this exciting new marketing,
merchandising and communication medium.
