Yep, that is our football team and our boys' alma mater-- not that I knew until...
Last night after the choir concert Dan and I went to a TGIF's for dinner, and there on the screens was SL Carroll! I stupidly asked why they were playing football on Thurs night. Apparently we are BIGTIME now and are ranked first in the nation- and so rated ESPN coverage- thus the Thurs. night scheduling. Our waitress told us that the night before, she had served a bunch of scouts in for the game.

Ammo is delighted because USC, his college, is also first in the nation. Although he has never played football (except for the practically mandatory 7th grade "I am a man" thing), he feels certain that somehow he must be responsible for all this success that seems to follow his academic trail.

Really, when you think about it.... it IS suggestive...

though we have several teams in Ohio that would eat them for lunch!
Oh YEAH??? So where are these great teams? Huh? Do we get to play them?
The competitive spirit flares.
As for our facility...
I just recently read an article about the cost of athletic fields. Amazing. MILLIONS of dollars. I have no idea what ours cost, but it is very, very nice. Of course, we have had to cut our fine arts programs in half.
But c'mon.
We are talking Texas Football!!!
